Johnny Manziel Moves To A Golf Community In The Cleveland Suburbs #JohnnySuburbs
CLEVELAND — Johnny Manziel is taking a positive step since checking out of a rehab facility in early April.
Johnny Manziel has used golf as an outlet during his rehab process and has moved out of his downtown Cleveland apartment and to a suburban golf community, according to a source.
The Browns quarterback has moved out of his downtown Cleveland apartment and into a golf course community in a suburb west of town, according to a source.
Golf has been a constructive outlet for Manziel since his return, the source said.
The QB’s old home, the Metropolitan at The 9, was the site of an alleged Nov. 22 assault of a fan by a member of Manziel’s “entourage” at 2:36 a.m. Manziel was not listed as a suspect, and the fan, Chris Gonos, later apologized publicly. Manziel said shortly after the incident that the fan aggressively approached him.
Manziel has stayed out of the spotlight in recent weeks, issuing a statement on April 17 apologizing to the Browns, hoping to regain trust in the organization and acknowledging his recovery will be an “ongoing process,” thus asking for privacy.

RIP Johnny Football, hellooooo Johnny Suburbs. LOVE the name change. Love the rebranding. Seriously if there’s one thing I’ve learned from Darren Rovell’s Twitter account, there’s nothing more important to a pro athlete than their #brand, and Johnny Manziel is going all out on improving that image. No more Johnny Rehab with drunk party pictures flooding the internet – it’s all casual golf outings, book club meetings, afternoons of mowing the lawn then relaxing in the hammock on Instagram from here on out. Oh and some playbook studying hopefully.
To be honest this is kind of a relief. I know I talked a big game before, but I don’t think I could have hung with the pre-rehab Manziel – all those clubs, all those drugs, all those smokeshows, staying out til dawn every night. That’s not really my lifestyle. Sounds much nicer crushing some lemon waters poolside watching the sunset listening to Van Morrison on Spotify then firing up a Netflix binge watch session or something, just Johnny and Colleen on the loveseat and me in the La Z Boy, chillaxin’. Perfect night.
